PHS City Harvest Application

What is City Harvest?

There is an incredible network of food growers in Philadelphia and its surrounding neighborhoods. PHS recognizes the role that neighborhood food growers play in generating solutions that create fresh, organic food accessibility, outdoor educational programs, and spaces to grow and gather.

The City Harvest Initiative is a component of the PHS Community Gardens Program that supports growers to increase the production and accessible distribution of organic, culturally relevant, locally grown produce by providing material and educational resources.

What kind resources does City Harvest provide?

Organic vegetable seedlings
Direct sow seeds
Perennial fruits and flowers
Plus all the other benefits of the PHS Community Gardens Program.

What requirements are there to get involved?

Currently active in the PHS Community Gardens Program (at least 1 or more years).
Have experience growing organically at scale.
Use City Harvest produce to donate to food pantries or soup kitchens, sell affordably, share with community members, or use for educational programming.
Volunteer 10 hours each year to help with City Harvest operations.
Commitment to organic production / agroecological practices.
Recommended that your garden have 2 or more people active in your donation / City Harvest plots.

How do I become a part of City Harvest?

Fill out this application -it should take no more than 10 minutes.

After you apply, we will contact you within 2 weeks to provide more information about the program.

If you feel like City Harvest is a good fit for your site, we'll arrange a visit to meet with your growers and see your site in person to determine our ability to assist you!
